Infraplus Consulting was engaged to design the Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) network for various towns in the USA. The project aimed to connect homes and businesses to a fast, reliable fiber optic network.

The process began by designing the Metro Ring, which served as the backbone for connecting the cabinets along the proposed fiber route. Using the FTTP Indexing Terminal Architecture, Infraplus planned how to serve addresses from the cabinet to the service address, ensuring efficient and scalable network performance.

Infraplus utilized ESRI ArcPro software to engineer the entire FTTP design, including the connection between fiber cabinets and end-user addresses. By linking ArcPro to the cloud portal, we ensured real-time data integration, accurate updates, and smooth planning of network routes.

The final design included complete data attribute field updates in accordance with Dobson Design Data Requirements, ensuring that all information about fiber components, cabinets, and addresses was properly recorded and accessible.

Scope of Work:

1. Network Design & Planning:

Design the Metro Ring to connect fiber cabinets across various locations
Use FTTP Indexing Terminal Architecture to connect cabinet locations to service addresses
Plan and optimize fiber routes using ESRI ArcPro linked to the cloud portal for efficient routing

2. Data Integration & Mapping:

Import all input data (e.g., addresses, cabinets) into ESRI ArcPro
Ensure all data attributes are filled and up-to-date according to Dobson Design Data Requirements
Create mapping layers for all fiber components and address connections

3. Connectivity & Fiber Routing:

Connect fiber cabinets to service addresses through indexing terminal architecture
Design the fiber network routes from cabinets to premises
Plan fiber cable connections, including splicing and distribution points

4. Cloud Integration & Real-time Data Updates:

Use cloud portals to ensure real-time data integration and project updates
Monitor and adjust fiber routes using cloud-linked data
Provide final design output in the required format for construction planning

FTTP Design including fiber routing, cabinets, and service connections

Construction Prints of the network layout and fiber paths

Data attribute field updates completed according to Dobson Design Data Requirements

Bill of Materials (BoM) detailing the required fiber components

Cloud-linked ArcPro files for real-time data updates and integration
