Infraplus Consulting was engaged to provide Low Level Design (LLD) services for a fiber network spanning 200 km in Montana, USA. This Brownfield project began with an input High-Level Design (HLD), from which Infraplus created a detailed LLD, focusing on fiber hub connectivity and precise route planning.

The design process involved verifying all passings and creating fiber routes according to the feasibility and guidelines provided. Polygons were planned based on network capacity, and Drop Hubs were placed in each polygon to ensure optimal connectivity. Distribution Hubs and Feeder Splices were strategically located, with connectivity established from the Feeder Hub to the Distribution Hub and then from the Distribution Hub to the Drop Hub.

Using ArcGIS Pro software, Infraplus created a grid-based design that was exported for construction prints. Each stationing and minor detail were documented in the LLD, ensuring full compliance with the project guidelines.

Scope of Work:

1. Low Level Design (LLD):

Verification of all passings and network routes based on HLD inputs
Polygon planning for each network segment, ensuring capacity and proper fiber connectivity
Feeder hub to distribution hub connectivity, followed by distribution hub to drop hub connection
Detailed stationing and minor design elements as per guidelines

2. GIS Mapping & Grid Design:

Use ArcGIS Pro software to map and design fiber routes and network hubs
Design of polygons and grid layouts for construction planning
Fiber terminal placement and distribution mapping for optimal network connectivity

3. Data Export and Documentation:

Export grid designs into construction prints for field implementation
Bill of Materials (BoM) in Excel detailing resources and fiber requirements
GDB files containing the complete network design and GIS data
